Summary
The IRS is hiring Economists and Senior Economists for the Treaty and Transfer Pricing Operations Practice Area within the Large Business and International (LB&I) Division. An economist is a technical expert in the analysis and resolution of economic issues related to Internal Revenue Code 482, and related transfer pricing regulations, court cases, and authoritative guidance. As an expert in valuation and transfer pricing issues, you will provide economic analysis in tax matters.
Responsibilities
Reviews and analyzes economic, financial, statistical, and tax data to determine potential economic issues; conducts or participates in interviews; conducts research and information gathering.
Works as a team member leading the economic analysis in planning, directing, and coordinating transfer pricing examinations. Performs and evaluates analyses to determine the arm’s length value of tangibles, intangibles, services, and assets.
Prepares and presents written and oral presentations explaining and defending research findings to the exam team, management, counsel, taxpayer, taxpayer’s representatives, Appeals, and other stakeholders.
