Position Overview: ABA is seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Policy Director to support its consumer credit and payments policy missions.

Demonstrated interest in public policy issues and ability to analyze technical legislative, regulatory, and legal subject matter. Experience working with quantitative subject matter or experience with economic concepts.

Conduct analyses and communicate findings in plain, persuasive language for general audiences. Ability to develop arguments and strategies to shape favorable public policy outcomes.

Deliver consistent, excellent service and prioritize member needs.

Assist in the management of ABA’s retail payments advocacy agenda, lead working groups, member engagement, and tracking/leading projects.

Requirements:
• 10+ years’ experience in public policy or research with minimum four years working on federal issues.
• Bachelor’s/Advanced Degree required, focus on government relations, regulatory policy, Business, Public Policy, Law, Economics or related field preferred.
• Finance, economics, law, or fin policy experience preferred.
• Strong policy analysis experience, specifically strong knowledge of the political, legislative, and regulatory process.
• Ability to work in a bipartisan environment.
• Strong project management experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience creating charts, graphs, and other data visualizations preferred.

Target Salary Range:
$160,000 - $172,000

Salary Band Range:
$124,247.00 - $172,048.00 - $219,849.00
