We are seeking researchers and applied scientists to join the Central Applied Science team at Meta. This interdisciplinary team aims to deliver research and innovation that contributes to Meta's success. As a member of this team, you will apply your expertise in quantitative methods to drive impact across products, infrastructure, and company operations.

Responsibilities include working with vast amounts of data, generating research questions, building data-driven products, developing novel quantitative methods, communicating best practices, and identifying new opportunities for data science contributions.

Minimum qualifications include having or being in the process of obtaining a PhD in Economics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field, experience developing algorithms in languages like Python, C, C++, or Java, and experience analyzing datasets using languages like Python or R. You must also obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred qualifications include experience solving complex problems, working cross-functionally, analyzing large datasets using tools like Presto, Hive or Spark, and a proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as publications at leading workshops, journals or conferences such as KDD, EC, ICML, NeurIPS, or similar.
