The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University invites applications from candidates for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in the Fall of 2025 in Environment, Societies, and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in research and teaching related to the social science aspects of environment, societies, and development in Latin America. Potential topics of research include, but are not limited to, the implications of climate change and environmental degradation for migration, indigenous communities, politics, governance, conflict, and economic development, as well as how those phenomena can influence climate change and the environment. We encourage applications from candidates working on these topics within and across academic fields such as anthropology, economics, geography, international relations, political science, and sociology. This position is part of Georgetown University’s Provost’s Distinguished Faculty Fellows (PDFF) Program, which seeks to hire candidates whose scholarship focuses on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The PDFF Program favors recent Ph.D. candidates. More information about the open position and application can be found here: https://apptrkr.com/5674366.
