The Economics Program at Bard College invites applications for a tenure track position in economics at the rank of assistant professor, to begin Fall 2025. We are interested in candidates whose teaching and research interests include the political economy of race and gender and American Economic History. The candidates’ work should complement the department’s existing pluralistic orientation, and we welcome broadly trained candidates who are interested in economic policy.

The successful candidate will teach in the core curriculum areas, as well as in the areas of her, his, or their specialty. The successful candidate will have a commitment to innovative undergraduate teaching at a liberal arts college; maintaining an active research program; contributing to the general education curriculum; and engaging with the life of the college. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. ABDs with dissertation defense plans before the starting date will be considered.
