The Morrison School of Agribusiness, housed within the nationally-ranked W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University (ASU), invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position in the areas of Global Agri-food Systems, Food Security, and Climate Change.

The candidate selected will join the fifth cohort of postdoctoral scholars at ASU as part of the Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program with a start date of August of 2025. The goal of the program is to support the career development of outstanding Ph.D. recipients from underrepresented populations with great potential for advancing the ASU Charter. After successful completion of the program, scholars will have an opportunity to transition to a tenure track appointment at ASU. Successful candidates will engage in scholarly research and may be asked to perform duties common to academic personnel including grant writing and limited but focused teaching and service in order to devote as much time to developing scholarship and a strong research path.

The Morrison School of Agribusiness has committed to providing individualized mentorship and career development to ensure each candidate is well prepared to succeed in a future tenure track appointment. Career development and community building will also occur through programmatic support through the Office of Inclusive Excellence in partnership with the ASU Graduate College’s Postdoctoral Affairs Office.

Minimum qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates must have a degree completed by the position start date. Evidence of research interest in at least one of the following areas: food security; climate change; agribusiness value chains; and/or agribusiness.
Desired qualifications:
Potential for excellence in research and teaching in an area of applied economics or business related to the examination of the food and agribusiness industry, such as (but not limited to) climate change and food security, risk management, agribusiness finance, data analytics, and econometrics, or other related areas. Teaching experience in either in-person or online modalities. Skills in implementing research, strong econometric and modeling skills, and strong written and verbal communication appropriate for scholarly reports and publications for a range of audiences. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to foster teamwork and collaboration, the ability to work effectively individually and as part of a large interdisciplinary team, and the ability to coordinate multiple academic projects. Evidence of activities consistent with the ASU Charter and Design Aspirations.
