Qualification Requirements

(1) Having research experience regarding economics (theory or practice) at universities or other research institutions (having knowledge of applied microeconomics (industrial organization, labor, environmental, public, or development economics), econometrics, and/or applied statistics (including data science) is desirable.),

or

(2) Having experience in survey, research, and data analysis on the economy and/or industry in private corporations, including think-tanks and consulting firms (including data scientists).

Treatment differs depending on whether having Ph.D. or not.

Occupation
As a deputy director or assistant director, to perform quantitative and/or qualitative economic analysis for the JFTC’s law enforcement, fact-finding survey, and ex-post evaluation.

Candidates must submit the following documents by email.

1. Curriculum vitae

2. Composition stating the reason for the application and the achievement of study or research in university

3. List of research achievements

4. Summary of research papers

Selection will be conducted by document screening and interview. Only candidates who have passed the document screening will be announced by the JFTC and will take an interview.

Other conditions

Appointments are for one year term. (Contract renewal possible)

Candidates must have Japanese nationality.
