Parvaaz is an impact-focused research and policy initiative at CEGA, UC Berkeley, applying behavioral and development economics to India's most pressing social challenges in education, employment, and health. We work at the intersection of rigorous research and large-scale implementation -- partnering directly with the Government of Punjab and J-PAL South Asia to design, evaluate, and scale programs that reach people at meaningful scale. Parvaaz is led by Professor Supreet Kaur (UC Berkeley) and affiliated faculty at UC Berkeley and MIT.

We seek an Associate Director of Research based in Chandigarh, India. This is a founding-team role with real scope and autonomy - you will shape the research agenda, lead government and policy partnerships, oversee the design and implementation of field experiments, manage on-the-ground research teams, and co-author academic papers and policy reports. You will also play a central role in the organizational development of Parvaaz as it grows. If you are entrepreneurially minded, care deeply about translating rigorous evidence into real-world impact, and are excited about building something new in one of India's most dynamic states, we'd love to hear from you.

Requirements: PhD in Economics or related field (ABD considered); ability to relocate to Chandigarh.
