JOE Interview Scheduling

Beginning in 2016, employers can use our interview scheduling module for listings that use the JOE application system, enabling those employers to schedule interviews with applicants directly through the JOE Network, at no additional charge. This feature allows you to:

  1. Set up individual time slots for interviews (at the January Annual Meeting or other locations/times)
  2. Select candidates from your applicant pool to invite to interview in those time slots
  3. Confirm and schedule interviews and get them onto your calendar

While the interface design will enable you to manually select which time slot options to make available for each individual applicant, the simplest option is to set up all available times, select the subset of applicants you wish to invite to interview, and then invite all applicants to choose from all available times (on a first come, first served basis).


The system will (after you review and save changes) send an email letting the applicants know that they have been invited to select an interview time slot. Applicants will only see the time slots you choose to make available to them, and they will not see other applicants or their choices.

When an applicant selects a time slot from the available options, it becomes unavailable to the other applicants at that time. If the employer confirms that applicant for that timeslot, the interview time slot is confirmed and written to the calendar (for both the applicant and the employer). If the employer rejects the applicant's time slot request, the time slot goes back into the pool and becomes available to other applicants again.

After an interview time slot has been confirmed by the employer, it can be canceled by either the employer or the applicant.  Applicants are advised, however, that they should only cancel in cases when they absolutely can no longer make that interview.  Don't forget to give the candidates a way to contact you if they have questions or need to reschedule. 

If you need to add more time slots or more applicants to the interview pool, you can do so at any time, and send additional invitations as needed.
