Full Text of JOE Listing:

ISO New England Inc. oversees the 24/7 operation of the power grid that covers the six-states of New England and administers the region’s $10+ billion “stock exchange” for the buying and selling of wholesale electricity. The power industry is constantly evolving so there is a lot going on to make sure the grid continuously yields reliable electricity at competitive prices while addressing the unique challenges that come along with our industry.

Economists at ISO-NE develop, substantiate, and articulate recommendations to improve the economic performance of the ISO’s electricity markets. This involves economic modeling, writing, and presenting clear explanations of complex micro-economic ideas. Projects often involve developing sound economic solutions to problems involving market-clearing rules and procedures; mechanism design; procurement of public goods; prices for real options and insurance-like products; auction design for lumpy or complementary goods; principles for allocating fixed costs; and recommendations concerning information revelation to the marketplace.

ISO New England provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
