IISER Bhopal was created through a proclamation of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in science and related areas. IISER Bhopal offers four year BS program (with an option to obtain BS-MS degree by spending an additional year) and Ph.D. program in Economic Sciences.

Applications for faculty positions at all levels are invited in the Department of Economic Sciences from eligible candidates in all areas of Economics. Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Economics or related field along with an excellent academic record. A strong commitment to research as well as teaching is expected.
