The Department of Economics of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Economics beginning in August 2023. Review of applications begins on November 14, 2022, and continues until the position is filled.


We seek an economist committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching with a specialty in macroeconomics. The successful candidate will regularly teach Principles of Economics, Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory, advanced courses related to macroeconomics and/or finance, and the department's capstone course. The candidate will teach periodically in the colleges' general education curriculum. Other responsibilities include student advising regarding academic and life goals and participation in faculty governance at the department and campus levels.


Applicants must hold a PhD in Economics (or receive a PhD by September 1, 2023). Applicants must have a specialty in macroeconomics, with a preference for applicants who have experience with empirical work and teaching interests in finance. Applicants must have strong teaching skills and a desire to achieve excellence in undergraduate teaching and to pursue a strong scholarly trajectory.
