Job Title:
Research Economist
Job Purpose:
Assist the Associate Director of the CBEA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Conduct specialized analyses, studies, and projects, including guidance for investors, policymakers, and entrepreneurs.
*Study and disseminate population demographic and workforce measures to support regional development.
*Collect and analyze data, investigate economic trends, and evaluate Wyoming economic conditions.
*Work with the Associate Director to complete funded research projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
*Education: Master’s degree in economics or a related field.
*Explicit knowledge of and experience with standard statistical software, such as R, Python, or Stata.
*Excellent communication and applied research skills.
*Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
Desired Qualifications:
*Master’s degree in economics and some experience executing economic impact analyses.
*Knowledge of and experience with software for economic impact analyses, such as IMPLAN.
*Experience with survey analysis and programming in Qualtrics.
*Knowledge of Wyoming’s economy.
*Documented ability to effectively communicate verbally to diverse audiences about complex topics involving data, and prior experience working cooperatively with government agencies and private industry.
