Job Description:
The Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University is seeking one full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) Lecturer with a 9-month academic appointment starting in the late Fall of 2023. The primary duties will be teaching courses related to financial literacy and wellness both in-person and online during the fall and spring semesters and supporting the financial growth and development of Undergraduate students. This position is defined as financial literacy and wellness, which includes a broad range of specializations such as financial planning, wealth management, banking and cash management, taxation, consumer debt and credit, college financing, career readiness, large asset acquisition, investing, and retirement planning.

Responsibilities for this position include teaching at the Undergraduate level, and service to the department, university, and the field, including outreach to industry. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach both classroom and online courses, grade coursework and conduct office hours, mentor students, engage in ongoing professional development through participation in professional associations and committees, and assist the college with special projects.

Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• A minimum of 3 years of significant teaching experience in the field of financial literacy and wellness as a full-time or adjunct faculty member at a college/university in both classroom and online formats.
• A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible programmatic experience in the field of financial literacy and wellness at a college/university.
• Experience mentoring and advising college students in relation to financial literacy and wellness.
• Experience utilizing e-learning programs (Camtasia, Articulate 360, etc.) to develop engaging and effective online courses.
• Documented success of teaching and advising excellence when working with a diverse population of college students.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty and staff.
• Strong communication skills.
• Evidence of innovativeness, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills.
• Proven ability to work within a diverse community and be committed to creating an inclusive work environment.



Preferred Qualifications:
• Public speaking experience in the field of financial literacy and wellness.
• Membership and/or leadership experience within professional organizations related to financial literacy and wellness.
• Membership and/or leadership experience within professional university organizations and networks.
• In-depth knowledge of the collegiate student experience and the financial factors that influence academic and career success for Undergraduates.
• Supervisory experience (staff, faculty, graders, teaching assistants, student employees, etc.).
• Recognized achievement in the field of financial literacy and wellness and/or related fields.
• Experience creating and modifying Canvas courses.
