J – Labor and Demographic Economics
The Department of Economics at San Diego State University invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Labor Economics, with a strong preference for candidates with a research specialization in U.S. immigration policy. The successful candidate will show promise in publishing in leading scholarly journals in economics and be able to teach courses at both the undergraduate and master’s levels. The position will begin in August 2024 and the successful candidate must have completed their PhD by August 20, 2024.
The minimum salary for this position is based on the current California State University salary schedule for Assistant Professors and may be revised based on contract collective bargaining. The anticipated salary range is from $102,000 to $107,000. Salary placement will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience, and salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
