Barron’s featured a paper that appears in the August issue of The American Economic Review about the effects of raising the minimum wage. The paper by Peter Harasztosi and Attila Linder found that job losses from a major wage hike in Hungary were dwarfed by the income boost for low wage workers. The Barron’s piece used the paper’s insights to explore the implications for the middle class in the United States. The paper was also featured in a recent AEA Research Highlight.
