The American Statistical Association invites nominations and application for the position of editor for Statistics and Public Policy
The American Statistical Association invites applications for the position of editor for the ASA journal Statistics and Public Policy (SPP) The new editor will begin by overlapping with the current editor, Jerry Reiter, in July, 2021, and then take the lead in January of 2022 for a three-year term. SPP is an online, open access journal. The objective of SPP is to publish articles concerning important public policy questions whose resolution depends on the application of interesting statistical methods. Topics that previous articles have addressed include the decennial census, the use of value added models for educational attainment, assessment of environmental damage, and voting behavior. The publisher is Taylor and Francis. SPP currently publishes on the order of 15-20 articles a year.
If you would like to nominate someone (including yourself) for this position, nominations are due by January 5th. The nomination process is simple--just send us the name of someone that you believe would be a good editor. Applications should contain a CV, a short vision statement about how the candidate might guide the journal in its next few years, and three references.
