The AEA Climate Survey has been sent to all current and former AEA members from the past nine years. The survey is designed to collect comprehensive information on the extent and nature of discrimination and harassment issues within the profession and help to inform resulting programming and policy initiatives. NORC at the University of Chicago is conducting the survey on behalf of the AEA. Responses will be confidential and analyzed using de-identified data. The success of our efforts largely depends on your thoughtful participation, and we hope that you choose to complete the survey. If you have not received the survey, please check your spam folders to ensure it has not been blocked by your institution's filters. Should you have any questions regarding the impetus for the survey or how the survey data will be used, please feel free to email the AEA at climatesurvey@aeapubs.org. If you have questions regarding survey content, administration, or data security, please feel free to contact the researchers at NORC at AEAsurvey@norc.org.
The inaugural issue of AER: Insights is coming in June 2019! Submissions have been brisk in anticipation of the AEA's first new peer-reviewed journal since the four American Economic Journals launched over a decade ago. A list of articles accepted for publication in forthcoming issues of AER: Insights is now available on the AEA website. Visit https://www.aeaweb.org/journals/aeri/forthcoming.
The American Economic Journals will now consider papers previously reviewed by AER: Insights. Authors of manuscripts previously reviewed by these journals may request that, subject to the referees' agreement, the full correspondence files of the referees (including cover letters as well as referees' reports) be shared with the editors of the AEJ journal to which the author is submitting. The AEJ editors will then have discretion to make a decision based on these reports or to request additional reports. For more details, please review the submission guidelines for the AEJs at https://www.aeaweb.org/journals/.
Join the conversation at EconSpark! The AEA's economics discussion forum offers users the opportunity to connect with peers, share relevant experiences, and exchange ideas within a professional environment. Discussion has been lively since its inception in September. Now is the time to bring your distinctive viewpoint to the table at http://www.aeaweb.org/econspark.
New! EconTrack: Job Information Board is now providing job candidates with reliable information about the status of open positions during the annual job market cycle. This service is hosted by the AEA and is intended to provide verified and up-to-date information in a professional climate. We need your help to make it successful! Please encourage your recruiters and hiring teams to supply status information for open positions at your institution. Monitor the progress at http://www.aeaweb.org/econtrack.
