AEA Conference on Teaching and Research in Economic Education – Submissions Due Soon

The fourteenth Annual AEA Conference on Teaching and Research in Economic Education (CTREE) is May 28-30, 2025, at Westin Denver Downtown. The conference is hosted by the AEA Committee on Economic Education (AEA-CEE) in conjunction with the Journal of Economic Education. Plenary talks will be given by Daniella Serra (Texas A&M University) and Tim Cason (Purdue University). Submissions, which may be individual papers, complete sessions of three or four papers, posters, workshops, or panels will be accepted via the submission portal through the deadline of December 1. Applications for EDUCATE Workshop to open in January 2025 – Plan Now

AEA-CEE is pleased to announce the Expanding Diversity in Undergraduate Classes with Advancements in the Teaching of Economics (EDUCATE) workshop will again be held in conjunction with CTREE in 2025 in Denver, CO. The workshop will be conducted as a face-to-face and Canvas-supported workshop starting on Friday, May 30, 2025, and concluding on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The registration fee of $100 includes all meals during the workshop and two nights of hotel accommodations for those that complete the entire workshop. See EDUCATE Workshop for details. Applications for the 2025 workshop will open on January 6, 2025.

AEA Summer Economics Fellows Program

The 2025 AEA Summer Economics Fellows Program application portal opens on December 1 and closes on February 1, 2025. This program allows graduate students and junior faculty to spend a summer as a member of the research community at a participating institution while engaged in a research project of their own choosing. Fellows are mentored by experienced economists both on scientific issues and career issues such as negotiating publications, the job market, and advancement strategies. AEA Summer Training Program – Application Portal is Open

The Committee on the Status of Minority Groups in the Economics Profession (CSMGEP) is pleased to announce that the application portal for the 2025 AEA Summer Training Program (AEASP), to be hosted by Howard University in Washington DC, is now open. AEASP is a prestigious program that uniquely enables students to prepare for the rigors of graduate studies—particularly at the Ph.D. level—through two months of intensive training in microeconomics, math, econometrics, and research methods with leading faculty. AEJ Best Paper Awards – Nominate Your Favorite Paper

The portal for nominations for the 2025 American Economic Journal Best Paper Awards opens December 2 at https://www.aeaweb.org/about-aea/honors-awards/aej-best-papers/noms. The awards will be announced in April 2025, selected from articles published in the 2022 through 2024 volumes of each AEJ.
