The American Economic Association and the economics profession were saddened to learn of the passing of Victor Fuchs at age 99. A longtime professor at Stanford University and a prolific author, he was best known for his work in the field of health care economics.
In addition to having a distinguished academic career, Fuchs served as president of the AEA in 1995 and as a member of the AEA Executive Committee from 1984 to 1986.
