How do minimum wages affect agricultural labor markets?

SongYi Paik is a PhD candidate at the University of Minnesota's Department of Applied Economics. She sat down for an interview at the 2024 AEA poster session to talk about the impact of minimum wages on the agricultural labor market in the United States. She found that minimum wages had no affect on agricultural employment overall, but increased agricultural employment among less-educated American Hispanic workers.
