The Women in Economics Intiativie Mentoring Programme
The Women in Economics Initiative set up the Mentoring Programme to empower the next generation of young economists by connecting them in a structured setting. This is a 10-month programme starting in October 2023.
The American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) National Conference: June 1 - 2, 2023
The conference is held in Washington DC over a two-day period typically at the end of the Memorial Day week. The sessions are informative and ample time is provided to allow for discussion among the presenters and session participants. Policy makers, academics, and real estate practitioners have all come to rely on the leading research and vigorous discussions that are a tradition of this conference.
Adopt a Paper Program - Notified of matches by the end of February 2024
Adopt a Paper is a new mentoring program aimed at providing feedback to junior scholars in the field of economics. Junior scholars submit a working paper to the program, and receive comments from a senior scholar who volunteers to provide constructive feedback on the content of the paper as well as publication advice.
CSWEP Networking Luncheon - March 31-April 2, 2023
This is an informal meet-and-greet event. Senior female economists meet and provide mentoring advice to junior faculty in areas such as teaching, research and publishing, tenure and promotion, work-life balance, teaching-research-service balance. Held at the Midwest Economic Association Meeting in Cleveland, OH.
CeMENT Mentoring Workshop for Faculty in Doctoral Programs - Applications will be accepted until August 15, 2023.
The CSWEP CeMENT workshop for faculty in doctoral programs is aimed at mentoring female faculty in tenure-track positions at PhD granting economics departments in the U.S. or at institutions with similar research expectations.
CeMENT Mentoring Workshop for Faculty in Non-Doctoral Programs - Applications will be accepted until August 15, 2023.
This CeMENT workshop is geared toward female junior economics faculty in departments that do not award PhD's in Economics.
CSWEP Mentoring Breakfast for Junior Economists - January 2024
At these informal meet and greet events, senior economists (predominately senior women) are pre-assigned to one of a variety of topical tables to provide mentoring advice to junior economists in areas such as research and publishing, tenure and promotion, non-academic careers, grant writing, teaching, work-life balance and the job market. Held during the ASSA Meeting in San Antonio, Texas.
Annual Mentoring Workshop for Junior Women at Midwest Econometrics Group- October 12 - 13, 2023
The Workshop will provide an opportunity for young women in the profession to interact with established senior mentors, with the goal of helping them start building a substantive, long-lasting intellectual relationship. It will also present potential opportunities for collaboration. The location of the Annual Meeting of the Midwest Econometrics Group changes every year.
Summer Economics Fellows Program
Sponsored by the American Economic Association and the National Science Foundation, summer economics fellowships are available to senior graduate students and junior faculty. During their residency, fellows participate as members of the research community while engaged in a research project of their own choosing. Location varies based on supporting sponsors.
